In the closet you’ll discover a few basic beach necessities to enjoy fully enjoy the beautiful clear waters of the Emerald Coast. Pensacola Beach/Casino Beach
In September 2020 hurricane Sally wiped out the Pensacola Bay bridge. The bridge recently re-opened but there’s only 2 lanes available so expect traffic. If you go early the drive is 20-25 minutes. An alternative way to get to the beach is the Pensacola Bay Ferry. It will take walk-on passengers to Pensacola
Beach with an eye pleasing ride!
Perdido Key/Johnson Beach
The national park beaches have a $25 /car entry fee but there are free entrance days (1/18, 4/17, 8/4, 8/25, 9/25, 11/11). There are also public access beaches too that do not have an entry fee! There is a Walmart and Target on the way out there which is convenient if you want to pick-up anything to take for your beach daytrip! Before you head back I’d recommend a stop at “The Sunset Grille” - there’s a beautiful sunset view from there and you can get drinks/food too!
Pensacola Bay Bridge is open again (was destroyed by hurricane Sally in Sept 2020) but is limited to 2 lanes of traffic so expect delays during high traffic hours. The Pensacola Bay ferry service to Pensacola Beach is operational for foot traffic as a fun alternative! Perdido Key/Johnson Beach are also accessible by car.
