Originally built in the 1940s, this unique cottage has many original details with modern amenities and vintage charm. For instance, when this home was originally built, it was built without any bathrooms, just an outhouse near where the shed is now. But no need to worry, with present-day plumbing, all bathrooms are indoors! ;)
Completely renovated, this 2bd/2bth + loft home comfortably sleeps 5 adults and offers so much. Now, while the floors may be a bit uneven (but very solid) and the doors might not work quite as well as a new door, you’ll fall in love with the charm and history of this little cottage in the mountains!
Have a cup of coffee on the porch in the rocking chairs, while listening to the soft babbling creek that runs alongside the property, just feet away from the front porch. Or, really enjoy the outdoors in our large yard and play some games like Cornhole or Croquet (included). And, in the summertime, keep your eyes open for lightning bugs (or fireflies, depending on where you're from) that can be spotted dancing in the moonlight.
When it comes to staying in, relax in a comfortable reclining leather couch or recliner, while cuddling next to the fireplace. Stream your favorite shows, a movie, or open up a board game for an old-school game night. And, if the weather permits, don’t miss out on roasting marshmallows while telling stories by the fire pit.
For meals, enjoy our large, eat-in kitchen with seating for 5 or grill up some steaks on the charcoal grill outside by our comfy deck. Fully equipped, the kitchen boasts upgraded appliances, additional kitchen amenities not found in many cabins, and gorgeous butcher countertops. You can even do a little work with our convenient built-in desk if you must mix business with pleasure on your trip.

Things to Know:

There is a "U" shaped gravel driveway that can accommodate up to 3 passenger vehicles. The road the house is located on connects to main roads in either direction that will take you anywhere you want to go. All roads leading to this home are paved and there are no steep inclines.
The upstairs loft has a low ceiling, so it is best suited for shorter adults (5'5" max before having to hunch over) or children. For added protection, we have fastened a gate at the top of the stairs, but please note that the steps leading to the loft are steeper and smaller than average stairs, so we don’t recommend very young children in the loft area. Be sure to close the curtains before you go to sleep for a surprise when you wake up in the morning, and if the moon is shining bright enough, you'll get a sneak peek at night.
For the cooler months, the living room has a propane log fireplace with a light switch to turn it on and the master bedroom has an electric log insert with a remote control to keep you warm. If you notice that the living room is staying warm from the fireplace but the rest of the house is chilly, turn off the fireplace and let the central HVAC run. The thermostat is in the living room, so it will think the whole house is warm if you have the fireplace on. Please note, since heat rises, the upstairs gets pretty warm (especially with the living room fireplace), but we've got a fan upstairs to help.
Being in a secluded, rural location means we run on a septic tank system and have well water. Therefore, only toilet paper can be flushed, and the iron-rich water leaves a bit of staining on the porcelain fixtures which is completely normal (rest-assured that everything is thoroughly clean).
Despite being on a monthly pest control program, you may see and hear critters as this is a normal part of mountain living.
Please note that the gas fireplace located in the living room will be shut off during warmer weather from April to October for safety reasons.
*Streaming services only - no cable or satellite provided. Firewood and charcoal are not provided. Lawn maintenance is scheduled 2x a month to keep up with the expansive yard - this may fall on a day when you're visiting.

Getting Around
We strongly recommend you come with your car or rent a car with any major car rental service at any airport. There are many fun attractions, delicious dining options, and shopping available close by when you want to venture out.

⚠️ Check In is after 4pm. We cannot offer early check-ins or late departures. This is to allow our cleaning crew ample time to make sure your cabin is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before and after your stay.
⚠️ Check Out is at 10am. Our cleaners need time to turn over the property before the next guests arrive. Please respect their time and vacate the property by 10 am. Late check out will incur additional fees of $100/hour.
