The Retreat is the perfect getaway for someone who is looking to rest and relax, while also enjoying all that nature has to offer. Whether you plan to come and never leave The Retreat or you plan to venture out into nature, there is plenty do. There are hiking trails, waterfalls, mountain biking, tubing, white water rafting, fly fishing and many other outdoor activities to keep you busy during your stay. We'd be happy to share our favorites with you.
Mountain Rest Lake is a private lake, only accessible by home owners or guests. They do not allow motorized boats, so it's very quiet and peaceful on the lake year round. There are four kayaks and a canoe, along with life jackets, at The Retreat, accessible to our guests.

Summary: Everything was wonderful!! I could see myself living in this place. Fishing was fun!Only one recommendation: be careful on the deck. Those transition portions of the deck where it steps up/ down can fool you.
