Summary: When we initially arrived and went to the office for check in you could tell the person checking us in wanted nothing more than to not be there just based on the attitude and responses to my questions. We went to the room and the only issue at first was the smell, it was musty like the doors had been left open and everything was humid/moist inside. The rooms are very dated but that's not a big deal when you're staying someone for the sake of a bed and shower.
That said... if there were other hotel rooms available that evening we would've left. When we went to lay down, we pulled back the covers and fluffed the pillows up just to find several hairs in the sheets. I mean several. Long blonde/grey hairs, short black hairs... at first we thought maybe it was from the housekeeper but kept finding different shades/lengths. I ended up laying down some of my fiancé's clothes and wrapped the pillow in one of his shirts so I could lay down.
It was just run down and felt dirty. I wouldn't stay there again.

Summary: Great stay. Only thing is there is no coffee maker in the rooms but there was coffee in the tiki area downstairs. Pool was nice too!

Summary: The bar/restaurant was great. There was a mini fridge in the room that we found helpful. Otherwise the room is outdated.

Summary: We stayed for a week at the 2-story Lodge. Overall, our stay was pleasant. Our intention was to be near my partner’s family as well as convenient to Route 1 (aka, “Jimmy Buffett Memorial Highway”). A native of the Lower Keys, my partner was familiar with the area and the Lodge. We found the Lodge to be “retro” in style (as others have mentioned), aka, the décor and style was “dated,” but the staff were friendly, the rooms clean, and the location excellent. The doors to the rooms front on Rt. 1, but the back of the Lodge with individual balconies overlooks Sugarloaf Sound—a beautiful and calm oasis to which to awake each morning.
The adjacent Tiki hut offers morning coffee/tea service as well as a shaded place to lounge, but you will need to find a source for breakfast (I think “Baby’s Coffee” is the closest.) The rooms do have mini refrigerators. For dinner and/or cocktails, restaurant “South of the Seven (mile bridge)” is open adjacent to the Lodge’s front desk building. There is also a small marina and skydiving nearby and a small outdoor pool on property.

Summary: I wanted to give this place better marks because the two guys at front desk were very friendly and accommodating with 12 pm late check out and where to fish advice. This is important if you like to fish because you can’t fish on property and they didn’t answer my message about that when I booked. The stay was ok but property is bit unkept and the floor was not cleaned properly. My socks were proof. This could be a great place with some better upkeep. If I had to stay again I would but wouldn’t be 1st choice.
