The Purple House (bc the paint color is a happy shade of light purple) is 2 floor home ACROSS the gravel road from Pettingill Pond. Less than 100 ft away from the dock with SHARED access with two super friendly neighbors in the Summer. As a guest of this house you have access to this pond where it is perfect for swimming, rowing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, boating, floating, ice skating, & snow shoeing.

The space
Our home is an old charming Maine cottage. We've made upgrades such as installed a new kitchen, new bathroom, floors/carpet, fresh paint inside, whole house water filter system, upgraded electric panel to charge your EV while running the washer/dryer and a firepit to enjoy the night under the stars. There's still work that needs to be done so please enjoy what we've upgraded and give grace on things that is still in progress.
We are doing our best to help make your stay as safe and comfortable as possible.
Outside: There’s a small deck where you can have a BBQ in the non winter months, but if you’d like, feel free to use the grill that's stored in the garage.
There’s a fire pit (guests are responsible for purchasing firewood). Do not use pressure treated wood or fire accelerators. If you are not familiar with starting a fire, please don’t learn on our property.
There’s 2 access to the pond, one is a boat launch that you can easily drive past located on the left if driving towards the house. Then, there's access from the dock. The Dock is SHARED and gets removed during the fall/winter season.
If you have a boat or Jetskis, there's Little Sebago Lake BOAT LAUNCH 3 miles down the road. Feel free to use that and the lake is beautiful! If you’re interested in fishing, a fishing license is required by the state. It’s an easy and inexpensive process.
INSIDE the home: There’s one bathroom located on the first floor. A small bedroom with a twin trundle, living room, office space, dining area, and a full kitchen. Guests can access the main breaker in the basement and for extra storage if guests are staying long term.
The stairs have one railing on one side, the steps are small so please be careful going up and down. There are two baby gates upstairs and downstairs that no guests should remove, its to keep the babies and pets safe.
There's a piece of wood at the bathroom door, be careful to not stub your toe!
The back entrance door makes a loud noise and sometimes hard to open and close especially during the warmer months when the wood swells.
On the second floor, there's 2 bedrooms both with queen sized beds and a living area without TV.
The kitchen has almost everything one will need to prepare meals. Basic spices and anything in the pantry are free for guests to use based on availability. If there’s a particular spice that’s needed, we suggest bringing it.
No coffee grinder yet, but there's a coffee maker.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire home. The basement is restricted and should only be accessible if the breaker needs a reset.
Other things to note
The driveway is big enough to park a small boat.
No on-street parking, kindly use the driveway. Our cleaning products such as laundry detergent is for us to use but feel free to use if its available. We’re not responsible for replacing detergent if stock is low. Our cleaning company may use their own detergent and could take us time to restock for our own use.
Gas for the grill is not provided by us, but is available at Walmart other stores 5 minutes away.
Light a fire in the fire pit (NOT the fireplace inside the home). Guests are responsible for purchasing their own firewood.
