The Silvery Moon: 1940s Beach Cottage – Steps away from the ocean!

Welcome to The Silvery Moon – a renovated 1940s beach cottage, with all the charms of the 1940s and the amenities of 2025! We are a dog friendly property and allow up to two well-behaved dogs. The backyard is fenced in for them too! We provide crates (two 36"; two 24", and one 42" located in the carport storage closet), dog bowls, towels, and a shammy towel for when your pup goes for a swim!
The cottage sleeps 6 and has 2 large bedrooms with huge closets and 2 completely renovated bathrooms. The open floor plan offers a large fully stocked kitchen with tons of cabinets, and a family room that spills into the enclosed porch. With lots of windows, there are several with ocean views! The beds, mattresses, L-shaped couch and chairs are all new. The cottage has been renovated and decorated to feel like you are back in the 1940s, with shiplap throughout and framed art with forties flare!
The primary bedroom has a king-size bed and private bathroom, plus two large closets. The second bedroom also has a king-size bed and large closet. Both bedrooms have dressers, bamboo hard-wood floors and mounted 42” TVs. The main living area has a full bathroom, including a tub, a large fully-stocked kitchen area, a big island with 3 chairs, a large couch and chair, and a 58” TV. The enclosed porch has a queen-size pull-out couch, a privacy screen, several chairs and a reading nook that overlooks the ocean.
Enjoy the expansive deck while you BBQ with family and friends. The outdoor table lets you enjoy your food and drink while you enjoy the sea breezes! The cottage comes with 6 beach chairs, a BBQ, pillows, sheets, towels, including beach towels, has an outdoor shower, and parking for 4 cars.
Once you park your car, you can leave it there, as the cottage sits on a one-way street that is more like a pedestrian walkway and convenient to almost anything in town! It's an easy walk to the Carolina Beach boardwalk to the North, and the Ocean Grill & Tiki Bar to the South. Other attractions within walking distance are Carolina Beach Lake, the Greenway, Veggie Wagon, Britts Donuts, restaurants, and bars, including locals’ and tourists’ favorite, the Fat Pelican, voted one of the top 25 dive bars in the country!
If you've never been to Carolina Beach before, you're in for a treat! We're a wonderful family friendly beach town with pizza shops, ice cream shops, seafood restaurants, and three grocery stores. You'll never have to (or want to) leave the island. During the summer there are free outdoor concerts and movies, a weekly Farmers Market, and Thursday night fireworks- all within walking distance. Stroll the boardwalk, head down to the Kure Beach pier, visit the NC Aquarium or take in some local Civil War history at Fort Fisher. You can find new things to do every day or, of course, just relax on the beach and soak up the sun. You'll be glad you came to Carolina Beach and will want to come back year after year.
